Summer Intern Series: Remi Manna

SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- All summer long, Bryant Athletics is highlighting the internships that student-athletes are involved with. Each Wednesday, Bryant Athletics will feature a question and answer session with a student-athlete about their internship and how it is preparing them for a life after sports.

Bryant Athletics: What is your internship for the summer?

Remi Manna: This summer I'm interning for FRANK PR, a publicity firm located in New York and Los Angeles. Some of their clients include the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, MoMa, Food Network/ Cooking Channel, WWE, Netflix and MGM. They also work on personal and brand representation.

BA: How does this relate to your field of study?

RM: I am a Comm major and public relations is a big part of communication. It includes writing press releases, communicating with clients, the public, and the media. I took a PR class last semester that really helped me prepare for this internship.

BA: What is one part of the internship that you are most excited for?

RM:  One of my favorite parts of interning for FRANK is working the events. FRANK organizes and works premieres, screenings, and film festivals. The interns get to go and help and it's really fun to be a part of the process. It's also pretty cool to see movies before they're out in theaters.

BA: What are you hoping to take away from this internship?

RM: I'm hoping to build relationships and expand my network. Also, explore NYC!

BA: What is one piece of advice you'd give to someone interested in getting into this field?

RM: My advice would be to get to know as many people as possible. PR is all about relationships and working with people so having connections is really important.
