Six-game road trip begins Thursday in Worcester

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – For the first time this season, the Bryant University women's soccer team hits the road as they head north to Worcester, Mass. for a Thursday night clash with Holy Cross.

The Series

The Crusaders own a 5-3 lead in the nine all-time matches with one draw in a series that dates back to 1984. In the last meeting, Holy Cross broke a scoreless tie in double overtime to win the match 1-0. Each of the last six ties between the two has either been decided by one goal or ended in a draw.

Bulldogs Notes and Notables

  • Bryant is coming off a 4-2 loss to the Maine Black Bears on Sunday afternoon in which Maine scored three goals in the first half to pull away.
  • Freshman Lexi Kraemer (Forest Hill, Md.) has two goals in her last three games, including a 25-yard strike over the keeper on Sunday that knotted the match at one at the time.
  • Her two goals are the most by a freshman since 2009, when Jennifer Harding tallied three in her inaugural campaign.
  • Senior Cayla D'Amico (Grafton, Mass.) has tallied five points in her first four games, averaging 1.25 points per game, good for third in the Northeast Conference.
  • The Bulldogs embark on a six-game road trip, their longest since the first season of the Division I era in 2008 when they played 15 in a row away from Smithfield.

A bit about the Crusaders

  • Holy Cross beat Saint Peter's at home in their last match 5-1, scoring the game's first five goals. Carly Flahive scored two 57 seconds apart to make it 4-0 Crusaders.
  • Flahive earned Patriot League Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honors for the performance and the first weekly honor for Holy Cross since their goalkeeper, Caroline Cashion, was named Goalkeeper of the Week in October of 2017.
  • Offensively, Ang Seslija leads all Crusaders with five points, recording a goal and three assists on the campaign. Flahive and Stephanie Lund have two goals each to lead Holy Cross in that department.
  • In net, Sophia Lettieri has played all 460 minutes, allowing a 1.37 goals-against averaging and recording a .781 save percentage.
