SMITHFIELD, RI. - The Bryant University women's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw in a conference matchup against Binghamton on Sunday.

Coach's comments on the tie...

"We defended well again today-both in the press and in our own half. Our possession was not as sharp has it has been, but we did put together some good counterattacks in both halves while battling well to earn the point in a hard fought tie."

  • The Bulldogs defense makes two point blank saves in the 69th minute to keep Binghamton from taking the lead.

Scoring Summary

  • 5th minute - Bryant 1, Binghamton 0 - Jordyn Collins broke through the Bearcat back line and ended up in a 1v1 against the keeper. As she made her move around the keeper, Collins got fouled and earned a penalty kick. Junior Samantha Breton stepped up to take the PK and hit it low and to the left past the keeper, who dove the opposite direction.
  • 15th minute - Bryant 1, Binghamton 1 - Lexi Vegoda sent in a corner which found Grace Vittoria off the bounce. Vittoria headed the ball home at the far post to tie the game.

Notes and Notables

  • Breton's PK goal was her second of the year. She is now 2-2 from the spot on the season.
  • Bryant now has five points in the conference standings. They are currently third in the America East.
  • Collins had a team high three shots in the contest.
  • Goalkeeper Kathryn McNeil made five saves in the game.
