SMITHFIELD, RI -  The Bryant University women's swim team picked up a 165-94 win over visiting Sacred Heart University on Senior Night at the Chace Athletic Center.

The Bulldogs won 10 of the 14 events on the evening led by a pair of freshmen standouts and a senior swimming in her final meet at home.

Senior Jess Looney (Goffstown, N.H.) has been a key member of the Bulldogs for the past four seasons and will graduate later this spring with her name etched on the Bulldog record board inside the Chace Center Pool.

The holder of five individual school record and a member of two record relay teams, Looney went out in style Wednesday with a win in the 200 yard backstroke in a time of 2 minutes, 33.42 seconds and concluded the meet in helping the 400 yard freestyle relay set another pool record.  Swimming the final leg along with teammates Casey Ostrander (Yarmouthport, Mass.), Molly Smith (Belmont, Mass.) and Brianne Dwyer (Hicksville, N.Y.) - all freshmen, Looney touched the wall in 3:46.40, just beating the previous mark of 3:46.44.

Smith and Ostrander each won three individual events with Smith, this week's NEC Swimmer of the Week taking home first-place in the 1,000 freestyle in 10:56.75.  She would also take top honors in the 200 breastroke (2:33.42) and 200 individual medley (2:14.89).  Ostrander looked strong with a first in the 50 free (25.30), 100 free (55.02) and 100 backstroke (59.80).

Dwyer had a first in the 100 breastroke in 1:10.98 while Abby Whittaker (Salisbury, Mass.) earned a first-place finish in the 100 butterfly in 1:02.98.

Prior to the meet, the Bulldogs honored eight seniors and their parents for Senior Day, including Looney, Wendy Augur (Cheshire, Conn.), Sarah Drew (Milton, Mass.), Emily Hayes (Marshfield, Mass.), Kelly Hill (Tarrytown, N.Y.), Dayna Konkon (Staten Island, N.Y.) and Allison Schaab (Boothwyn, Pa.).
