WOMEN'S SWIMMING DROPS SEASON OPENER TO BOSTON COLLEGE, 149-108

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University women's swimming team fell to Boston College, 149-108, over the weekend in Chestnut Hill, Mass. Despite the loss, the Bulldogs captured first place in half of the events, but were not able to overcome the Eagles in the season opening loss.

Freshman Taylor DeBever (Denver, Colo.) had a solid performance in her collegiate debut, finishing first in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 54.72. DeBever also took second place in the 100 yard backstroke event with a time of 1:02.09.

The Black and Gold also saw top finishes from Molly Smith (Belmont, Mass.), Katelyn Kidney (Lynn, Mass.) and Casey Ostrander (Yarmouthport, Mass.) who captured first place in the 100 yard breaststroke, 100 yard butterfly and the 100 yard backstroke respectively.

The Bulldogs return to action Saturday, October 16 for their first conference match of the season against visiting Wagner College.
