Ostrander earns 4th-straight swimmer of the week

OSTRANDER NAMED NEC SWIMMER OF THE WEEK FOR FOURTH-STRAIGHT WEEK

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Senior Casey Ostrander (Yarmouthport, Mass.) was named the Northeast Conference Swimmer of the Week for the fourth-consecutive time, the league announced on Tuesday. Ostrander won three individual events last Saturday against the University of Massachusetts.

The premier swimmer in the NEC, Ostrander has now won 14 career weekly honors. Bryant has won all but two of the weekly honors this season, with junior Taylor DeBever (Denver, Colo.) claiming a pair as well. Against the Minutewomen, Ostrander won the 100 back (57.95), 50 free (24.13) and the 100 free (52.43). On the season, she has won 22 of her 25 individual events.

Bryant returns to the Chace Athletic Center Pool on Thursday, Jan. 24 when it hosts intrastate rival Brown. Ostrander and seven other seniors will be honored prior to the meet.
