Bulldogs fall to Brown on Friday

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Freshman Meghan Claflin (Newburyport, Mass.) claimed the only first-place finish of the afternoon as the Bryant University women's swimming and diving team fell, 165-76, to Brown on Friday.

Already preparing for the Northeast Conference championships in February, the Bulldogs (5-6) will return home next Friday, Feb. 1 to host Holy Cross on Senior Day.

On Friday, the Black and Gold were led by the rookie Claflin. She won the 500 free with a time of 5:11.87. The Bulldogs also received a strong performance from senior Taylor DeBever (Denver, Colo.). She finished second in the 200 (1:56.43) and 500 (5:11.89) free events.

Bryant's senior day matchup with Holy Cross is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
