Bulldogs compete in CCSU Diving Invite on Sunday

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's and women's diving teams put together a strong performance on Sunday afternoon at the CCSU Diving Invitational held in New Britain, Conn.

The Bulldogs competed against Fairfield and Central Connecticut on the afternoon. The Blue Devils took first place in both the women's 1 and 3 meter and the Stags were victorious in the men's 1 and 3 meter.

Kelci Abernethy (Chandler, Ariz.), the reigning NEC Diver of the Week, finished second in the 3 meter dive with a score of 209.85. She also placed fourth in the 1 meter dive. Carissa Stemen (Naples, Fla.) placed second in the 1 meter dive with a score of 212.95 and finished fifth in the 3 meter dive. Stephanie Jennings (Elmont, N.Y.) finished sixth in both the 1 and 3 meter and Ann Burdick (Glenmont, N.Y.) finished seventh and eighth, respectively.

On the men's side, Kevin Sullivan (East Lyme, Conn.) placed second in the both the 1 and 3 meter dives. Adam Gauthier (Middletown, Conn.) finished third in both events.
