Bulldogs in fifth after first session of Harold Anderson Invite

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University women's swimming and diving team opened up the Harold Anderson Invitational on Friday night at the University of Rhode Island.

The Bulldogs posted 157 points in the first session and are currently in the fifth out of six teams. Rhode Island is in first place with 297.50 points.

Bryant received a majority of its points from a strong showing in the 1-meter dive. Freshman Kelci Abernethy (Chandler, Ariz.) won the event with a score of 227.25. Classmate Stephanie Jennings (Elmont, N.Y.) finished third in the event with a score of 204.65. Sophomore Nicole Salzano (Elmwood Park, N.J.) also performed well, placing eighth in the 500 free.

Session two will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday morning.
