Women's swim & dive finishes fourth at Harold Anderson Invitational

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Sophomore Jillian Rice (Trumbull, Conn.) won two events to lead the Bryant University women's swimming and diving team to a fourth-place finish at the Harold Anderson Invitational.

The Bulldogs finished the two-day event with 566 points. Rhode Island won the invitational with 920.5 points.

Rice had an outstanding meet for the Bulldogs, winning the 50 free (24.23) and the 100 free (52.79). She also finished fourth in the 200 free (1:55.78).

Ann Burdick (Glenmont, N.Y.) was dominant on the boards, finishing second in the 3-meter (212.15) and third in the 1-meter dive with a score of 214.05. Carissa Stemen (Naples, Fla.) finished third in the 3-meter and Stephanie Jennings (Elmont, N.Y.) finished fourth in the 3-meter.

Other top performers included Mackenzie Kirk (San Jose, Calif.), Samantha Torrez (Whittier, Calif.), Taylor Poliseno (Stevenson Ranch, Calif.), Eliza Brant (Hauppauge, N.Y.) and Alaina Scifo (Ipswich, Great Britain). Kirk finished seventh in the 400 IM and eighth in the 1650 free, Torrez finished fourth in the 100 fly and Poliseno finished fifth in the 100 fly.

Brant finished fourth in the 200 breast and fifth in the 100 breast, while Scifo finished fifth in the 100 back and sixth in the 200 back.
