Bulldogs fall to UMass on Saturday afternoon

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University women's swimming and diving team fell to the University of Massachusetts, 186-106, on Saturday afternoon in Amherst, Mass.

The Bulldogs were swimming in a dual meet for the first time in 2017 after returning from their annual training trip.

Freshman Alaina Scifo (Ipswich, Great Britain) led the way for Bryant, winning the 200 back and finishing second in the 100 back. Scifo posted a winning time of 2:07.70 in the 200 back and posted a time of 59.95 in the 100 back.

Other top performers included Mackenzie Kirk (San Jose, Calif.), Valeria Watson (Mexico City, Mexico) and Eliza Brant (Hauppauge, N.Y.). Kirk finished third in the 1000 free, Watson finished third in the 200 free nad Brant finished third in the 200 breast.

The Bulldogs return to the pool on Jan. 28 when they visit Holy Cross.
