Bulldogs host Iona Saturday in final home meet of semester

SMITHFIELD, R.I. After a commanding win over in-state rival Providence last weekend, the Bryant University women's swimming and diving team welcomes Iona for a noon meet at the Chace Athletic Center on Saturday.

Last Time Out

  • The Bulldogs started the meet with a record-setting 400 medley relay time with a time made up of three underclassmen and one upperclassmen. Diving also earned two top-three finishes in each event.

Last Meet with Iona

  • Senior Nicole Salzano (Elmwood Park, N.J.) won her two individual events last time around that resulted in a Bulldog win. Kelci Abernethy (Chandler, Ariz.) and Carissa Stemen (Naples, Fla.) are looking to pick up where they left off last time out against Iona, getting top three finishes in both diving events.

A bit about the Gaels

  • The Gaels are 2-4 on the season, falling in the team's quad meet.
  • The 400 medley relay team defeated Sacred Heart to start out the meet last week.
  • Alyssa Chain and Elizabeth Kaczmarek each picked up second place finishes in the 50 free and 200 IM, respectively.
