Jennings honored by NEC; Rice takes home CollegeSwimming Award

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – For the second consecutive week, juniors Stephanie Jennings (Elmont, N.Y.) and Jillian Rice (Trumbull, Conn.) won weekly honors.

Jennings placed third in the 3-meter dive for Bryant at the Harold Anderson Invitational en route to Northeast Conference Diver of the Week, finishing the event with a score of 211.65. She also placed sixth in the 1-meter for the Bulldogs with a score of 208.70, helping Bryant to a second-place finish at the two-day meet held at Rhode Island.

All in all, the Elmont Memorial graduate accumulated 29 of Bryant's 601 points.

Rice won her second consecutive CollegeSwimming Northeast Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week after winning three events over the weekend. She won the 100 free (52.88) and 200 free (1:53.66) in season-best times for any Bulldog this year.

Rice finished with a total of 60 points in individual events for Bryant.

Jennings takes home Bryant's fifth Diver of the Week award of the season and is the second Bulldog to win it in back to back weeks. Junior Kelci Abernethy (Chandler, Ariz.) won it back-to-back weeks to start the season and has three overall.

After a weekend off for Thanksgiving, the Bulldogs are back in action at the Gompei Invitational next weekend at WPI.
