Schulte, Svärd named CSCAA Scholar All-Americans

Norfolk, Va. – Bryant University swimmers Ben Schulte (Tumon, Guam) and Elin Svärd (Falun, Dalarna, Sweden) were named College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America Scholar All-Americans for the 2017-18 academic year, the organization announced on Wednesday.

Schulte and Svärd were selected as Honorable Mention recipients, all of whom finished the season with a 3.50 GPA and an NCAA "B" Cut during their respective conference championships. Schulte made the cut with his 100 breast (53.62) and 200 breast (1:58.01), while Svärd's came during her 100 fly (53.69).

Bulldogs earned spots on the list for the third consecutive season, while putting multiple swimmers on each of the last two years. Schulte's honor is his third consecutive, while Svärd made the list in her first campaign for the Black and Gold.

Founded in 1922, the CSCAA – the oldest organization of college coaches in America – is a professional organization of college swimming and diving coaches dedicated to serving and providing leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming and diving at the collegiate level.
