Abernethy named NEC Diver of the Week

SOMERSET, N.J. – Bryant University senior diver Kelci Abernethy (Chandler, Ariz.) was named Northeast Conference Diver of the week, the league announced Tuesday.

After being out the entirety of the 2017-18 season, Abernethy returned to the boards with a bang by taking second place in both the 1-meter (234.66) and 3-meter (238.34) dives against ACC foe Boston College on Friday night.

Now an 11-time diver of the week over the course of two-plus seasons, both of the senior's scores are tops in the NEC early in the 2018-19 season. Her Bulldogs return to the pool on Friday evening at 5 p.m. when they take on in-state rival Providence on the road.
