Women's Swim & Dive wraps up 2018-19

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University women's swimming and diving team wrapped up its competition season with a strong showing at the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships and the National Invitational Collegiate Championships.

Junior Alaina Scifo (Ipswich, Great Britain) and sophomore Elin Svärd (Falun, Darlana, Sweden) swam in the NIC Championships, while senior Kelci Abernethy (Chandler, Ariz.) made history as the first male diver to compete at the NCAA Zone A Championships.

Svard and Scifo helped the Black and Gold score 60 points at the NIC Championships, competing in seven total events. Svard finished 31st in the 50 fly (25.27), 21st in the 200 IM (2:04.25) and seventh in the 100 fly (54.22).

Scifo finished 25th in the 50 back (26.22), 38th in the 200 back (2:04.98) and 47th in the 200 free (1:52.56).

Abernethy competed in the 1-meter and 3-meter at the NCAA Zone A Championships. She finished 55th in the 3-meter (157.00) and 57th in the 1-meter (198.75).
