Bryant ends the regular season with a victory against Marist

Poughkeepsie, N.Y. – The Bryant University women's swimming and diving team defeated Marist by a score of 170-128 on Saturday, January 25.

 

Coach Keane's Comments

 "We had a solid day from both teams today in our last dual meet of the season. That's a great win from the women. Now it's time to prepare for NECs and MAACs and accomplish the goals we set."

Notes and Notables

  • Bryant started the meet with a second and third-place finish in the 200 medley relay. The team of Alaina Scifo (Ipswich, Great Britain), Kayleigh Canavan (Cumberland, R.I.), Alexa Rivera (Boynton Beach, Fla.), and Laurel Carey (Madison, N.J.) earned second (1:50.11). Lindsey Choate (Upper St. Clair, Pa.), Heather Wong (Ramsey, N.J.), Domenica Alcala (Cancun, Mexico), and Alyvia Beaudion (Cypress, Texas) teamed up to place third (1:51.38).
  • The Bulldogs earned their first victory from Sammi Grenon (Cheshire, Conn.) in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 10:30.48. Alyssa DiFiore (Wethersfield, Conn.) finished third (10:41.14) in the same event.
  • Rivera continued her momentum from last weekend with first-place finishes in the 100 (53.33) and 200 freestyle (1:57.52). She also won the 200 individual medley (2:11.47).
  • Erin Doruska (Ankeny, Iowa) earned second in the 200 freestyle (1:57.54) and Reetta Kanervo (Oulu, Finalnd) placed third (54.48) in the 100 freestyle.
  • The Black and Gold placed third in the 100 backstroke with Scifo posting a time of 1:01.10.
  • Bryant got its second win of the meet from Wong (1:07.87) in the 100 breaststroke. Canavan earned third-place (1:09.45) in this event.
  • The Bulldogs finished ahead of the pack again in the 200 butterfly with Grenon finishing first (2:11.62).
  • The Black and Gold then had a dominant 1-3 finish in the 50 freestyle. Kanervo won (24.48), Carey placed second (25.20), and Julia Larson (Wauwatosa, Wis.) earned third place with a time of 25.54.
  • Scifo added another victory for Bryant in the 200 backstroke (2:07.43)
  • The Bulldogs continued their great day with a first-place triumph in the 200 breaststroke from Wong (2:25.17). Fellow teammate Cannavan finished in third with a time of 2:28.89.
  • The winning didn't stop with a 1-2 finish from DiFiore (5:12.81) and Grenon (5:14.09) in the 500 freestyle.
  • In diving, Kyri Chambo (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) placed second in the three-meter dive (215.00) and finished third in the one-meter dive with a score of 207.68.
  • Bryant earned another 1-2 finish in the 100 Butterfly with Kanervo placing first (57.80) and Gendron earning second with a time of 1:00.75.
  •  The Black and Gold concluded the meet with a first-place finish in the 400 freestyle relay from the team of Doruska, Kanervo, Canavan, and Carey (3:38.81). DiFiore, Choate, Larson, and Beaudion teamed up to place third (3:43.73).
