Bulldogs compete in Virtual Meet Series

Smithfield, R.I. - The Bryant University women's swimming and diving team competed in a Virtual Meet Series against Army, UNC Wilmington, and George Washington University at the Chace Athletic Pool.

 

Coach Cameron's Comments:

"We saw some fast swimming tonight. It was exciting!  I loved the energy this team was excited to get up and race in a suit!  We have been working hard, and I am impressed by the effort and attitude of this team this Fall!!"

 

Notes and Notables:

  • The team of Julia Stenhård, Heather Wong, Elin Svärd, and Alexa Rivera posted a time of 1:45.22 in the 200 medley relay, which was the top time for the Bulldogs.
  • Sammi Grenon continued her momentum from the end of last season and recorded a time of 3:00.95 in the 300 free. Teammates Natalia Kuipers and Kelly Tiernan rounded out the podium with times of 3:06.55 and 3:07.90.
  • Stenhård built on her debut by logging the top time in the 100 back (55.81), fellow freshman Jillia Stevens (59.15), and Madeline Condon (1:00.83) earned the second and third best times.
  • In the 100 breast, Wong touched the wall at 1:07.48 while Amelia Berg and Claire Russel posted times of 1:10.28 and 1:15.21.
  • Rivera earned the top spot in the 50 free and the 100 fly with times of 24.02 and 56.64.  Doruska was second (24.93), and Laurel Carey claimed the third-best time (25.57) in the 50 free. Svärd and Stenhård posted times of 57.02 and 57.23 in the 100 fly.
  • Svärd, Wong, and Grenon achieved times of 1:01.21, 1:02.18, and 1:03.51 in the 100 IM.
  • The 100 free was the final event of the event in which, Doruska finished on top with a time of 53.17. Alyvia Beaudion and Stevens recorded times of 53.97 and 57.01.
