Rivera and Grenon swim well in loss to URI

Kingston, R.I. - Alexa Rivera and Sammi Grenon of the Bryant University women's swimming and diving team combined for five wins in the 156-142 loss against Rhode Island today.

 

Notes and Notables

  • The Bulldogs continued their season-long really success with a victory in the 200 medley relay. The team of Julia Stenhård, Alyvia Beaudion, Elin Svärd, and Laurel Carey recorded a time of 1:50.31.
  • The Black and Gold earned another win in the 400 IM when Grenon posted a time of 4:38.06. Grenon also recorded a first-place finish in the 200 fly (2:12.02).
  • Rivera won three events today she placed first in the 200 free with a time of 1:59.27, the 50 free (24.54), and the 100 fly (58.07). 
  • The Bulldogs earned a second and third-place finish in the 100 back. Stenhård recorded a time of 58.85, and Erin Doruska followed (1:00.65).
  • Bryant kept to their winning ways with a win in the 100 free from Doruska (54.16). Beaudion finished third with a time of 54.74 in the same event.
  • Freshman Stenhård and Jillian Stevens recorded a first and third-place finish in the 200 back with times of 2:08.20 and 2:12.87.
  • Amelia Berg found the podium with a second-place finish in the 200 breast (2:33.08).
  • The Black and Gold finished in second and third place in the 500 free. Doruska posted a time of 5:19.42, and Grenon touched the wall at 5:22.35.
  • Bryant ended the meet with a third-place finish in the 200 free relay. Berg, Rylee Wirtanen, Alexandra Heim, and Stevens combined for a time of 1:46.04.
  • Last week's Northeast Conference Diver of the Week, Gabrielle Ritzer, won the one-meter dive with a score of 230.85. Fellow diver Kyriana Chambo placed third in the one (215.54) and three-meter dive (206.39).
