Beasley and Pearce set new program records at BU

BOSTON - The Bryant University women's swimming and diving team dropped their last regular season meet to Boston University by a score of 188-111.

The meet was by no means unsuccessful though as many athletes posted personal bests. Makayla Pearce and Megan Beasley highlighted the day by posting three program records.

Coach's comments on the meet…

"All around the meet of the year so far for the men and women!  Tons of best times, season best and four school records!  Very proud of how we competed and this gives us great momentum headed into our conference meet in two and half weeks."

Notes and Notables

  • Megan Beasley continued her stellar run of form with her record setting day in both the 1 and 3 meter dives. Her scores of 300.53 in the 1m and 284.10 in the 3m earned the freshman top spots in the Bryant record books. Beasley's performance on Saturday was also enough to qualify her for the NCAA Division I Diving Championships in both events.
  • Makayla Pearce grabbed two wins in addition to a program record on the day. Pearce took both the 500 yard and 1000 yard freestyle events. The sophomore raced to a 5:02.51 in the 500 free to start the day. Pearce then laid  down a 10:08.91 in the 1000 free to break her own program record of 10:14.56.
  • Elayna Pistrin grabbed the last victory of the day for the Black and Gold. Pistrin swam a 2:22.95 in the 200 yard backstroke to take the win.
