BRYANT WOMEN’S TENNIS DEFEATS HARTFORD 7-0

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University women’s tennis team wrapped up the 2009-10 season in style with a 7-0 win over the University of Hartford Wednesday afternoon at the Bryant Tennis Courts Complex.  The Bulldogs swept all three doubles matches to open and followed with a strong showing in singles play to pick up the win.

Freshman Claudia Hidalgo rolled to a straight-set win over Livia Blasque at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-0 while teammate Valeria Couto Cuervo followed suit with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Margaret Sabatino at No. 2 singles.

Rhode Island natives Katie Francazio (Cranston, RI) and Katie McCabe (Barrington, RI) were also victorious in singles play as Francazio picked up a 6-1, 6-0 win over Nicole Haynal at No. 3 singles and McCabe cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 win against Margaret Potkay.
