Ryan Brown earns second NEC and ECAC Player of the Week selections

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – After a perfect 2-0 performance on Sunday vs. FDU, sophomore Ryan Brown (Austin, Texas) of the Bryant University women's tennis team was named Northeast Conference and ECAC Player of the Week, announced the league offices earlier this week.

Brown collects her second NEC Player of the Week award of the spring after securing wins at both No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles in the Bulldogs' 5-2 win over three-time defending NEC champion Fairleigh Dickinson on Sunday. Brown cruised to a 7-5, 6-3 straight-set win over the Knights' Nicole Chis and paired up with classmate Marion Bouillin (San Diego, Calif.) to secure an 8-5 victory over the FDU tandem of Mariya Krachok and Gisela Castany. Brown has now won three of her last four matches to improve to 6-5 at No. 1 singles this year.

With less than three weeks until the NEC Championships, the Black and Gold return to action on Friday when they visit Sacred Heart for a 1 p.m. tilt in Fairfield, Conn.
