Top-seeded Bulldogs subdue Red Flash, 4-0, in NEC Semifinals on Saturday

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University women's tennis team owned the court in the Northeast Conference Semifinals and swept Saint Francis U, 4-0, on Saturday afternoon in West Windsor N.J.

Only two of the three doubles teams finished play on Saturday. The No. 1 doubles pair of juniors Marion Bouillin (San Diego, Calif.) and Ryan Brown (Austin, Texas) were victorious in their match, 6-1, as the No. 3 doubles duo of sophomores Linnea Sjoberg (Stockholm, Sweden) and Stefanie Arroyo (Gurabo, Puerto Rico) outlasted their matchup, 6-2.

The No. 1, 2 and 3 singles matches went unfinished, but the Bulldogs were still able to attain three points thanks to wins from sophomores Nina Luiggi (Nottingham, England) and Ashanti Campfield (Stratford, Conn.), as well as Arroyo. In No. 4 singles play, Luiggi defeated Brittini Jentz in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1, in No. 5 singles play, Campfield bested Stephanie Miller by a score of 6-2, 6-0 and Arroyo ousted Dani Gryckiewics, 6-3, 6-2 in No. 6 flight play.

With a trip to the NCAA Championships up for grabs, the Bulldogs will take on rival and second-seeded Fairleigh Dickinson on Sunday beginning at 1:00 p.m.
