Cilli repeats as NEC Coach of the Year, Bulldogs capture eight All-NEC selections

SMITHFIELD, R.I. –Barbara Cilli, head coach of the Bryant University women's tennis team, reclaimed her title as the Northeast Conference Coach of the Year after taking her Bulldogs back to the conference tournament, where just named first teamers, Linnea Sjoberg (Stockholm, Sweden), Ashanti Campfield (Stratford, Conn.) and Stefanie Arroyo (Gurabo, Puerto Rico) helped carry the team to their second-straight NEC title match.

Cilli coached the Bulldogs to a 10-8 overall record, while finishing 4-0 in league play. Sjoberg received First Team All-NEC honors in No. 2 singles, while also earning the honor alongside Arroyo in No. 3 doubles. The sophomores paired up to go 11-2 on the year, while Sjoberg finished 7-4 in No. 2 singles. Arroyo completed her pair of awards by capturing first team in the No. 6 singles slot, going 7-1 and a perfect 5-0 against NEC competitors.

Campfield captured the top team honor in No. 5 singles, while pairing up with Nina Luiggi (Nottingham, England) for Second Team All-NEC honors in No. 2 doubles. After being named the 2015 Rookie of the Year, Campfield maintained her elevated level of play, finishing 8-2 in No.5 singles during her sophomore campaign. Her classmate was dubbed Second Team All-NEC in the No. 4 singles slot after going 4-2 in the position, while pairing with Campfield to go 8-7 in No. 2 doubles.

Junior Marion Bouillin (San Diego, Calif.) joined Luiggi on the second team, earning the recognition at the No. 3 spot after posting a 4-1 record in singles play. Bouillin also received second team honors in No. 1 doubles, alongside classmate Ryan Brown (Austin, TX), as the duo put together a 7-6 finish overall and a 3-2 mark in conference.
