Bulldogs earn five All-NEC selections; Arroyo named to NEC First Team

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University women's tennis team claimed five all-conference selections, including junior Stefanie Arroyo's (Gurabo, Puerto Rico) First Team All-NEC selection at No. 5 singles.

Arroyo claimed the Bulldogs' sole spot on the singles first team after posting a 5-4 record at five. The junior went 5-1 against NEC foes and ended the season on a three-game winning streak. Last season, Arroyo was named to the NEC First Team at No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles.

Juniors Ashanti Campfield (Stratford, Conn.) and Nina Luiggi (Nottingham, England) teamed up to earn their second-straight NEC honors, this year earning first team recognition at No. 2 doubles. The pair went 10-7 overall and 5-2 against NEC opponents.

Luiggi also picked up Second Team All-NEC recognition at No. 4 doubles, finishing the season with a 3-1 overall mark and 4-2 conference record in the flight.

Senior Ryan Brown (Austin, Texas) and junior Linnea Sjoberg (Stockholm, Sweden) joined Luiggi on the all-conference second team, as Brown earned the honors at No. 6 singles and Sjoberg at No. 2 singles. NEC Player of the Year as a sophomore, Brown went 1-0 in the flight, posting a 3-2 record in the NEC this season. She finishes her career as a three-time NEC selection in singles and doubles.

Sjoberg went 4-1 at two, remaining perfect in NEC play.  The junior posted a 5-1 record in the last six matches, finishing the season on a three-match winning streak. This year's second team recognition marks Sjoberg's third NEC honors in singles play.
