Cilli announces full 2017-18 campaign

The Bryant University women's tennis team announced their full 2017-2018 schedule on Wednesday, with the season kicking off on Sept. 22. The program is set to play in 21 matches before the Northeast Conference Championships, as well as participating in the ITA Regional Championships in Philadelphia.

Bryant travels to West Point, New York, to play in the Army Invitational, which runs from Sept. 22 through Sept. 24 to kick off the new season.

The Bulldogs then head to in-state rival Rhode Island, traveling to Kingston on Sept. 30 to meet the Rams on the court. On Oct. 8, the Bulldogs will be back on the Kingston courts again, meeting Monmouth in a neutral-site matchup.

Bryant will host Providence in its home opener, which is set for Oct. 12. It will be the Bulldogs' final match before heading to the ITA Regional Championships from Oct. 19 through Oct. 21.

After a two-month break in the action, the Bulldogs start things up again on Jan. 28 when they take on the UMass Minutewomen.

February begins with back-to-back home matches against Brandeis on Feb. 3 and Wagner on Feb. 10.

Bryant will then square off with Fairfield and Butler on Feb. 11 and 16, respectively. Following the meeting with Butler, the team travels to Loudonville, New York, for a matchup with Siena.

Another pair of road games follows, as the Bulldogs head to Boston University on Feb. 22 and then head to NEC foe LIU Brooklyn on Feb. 25.

Warmer weather follows as the Black and Gold head to Puerto Rico for the team's spring destination, as head coach Barbara Cilli's squad will meet Army on March 13 and Navy on March 14.

The Bulldogs return to Smithfield when they host Quinnipiac on March 21 and Fairleigh Dickinson on March 24.

Bryant plays its last two road games of the season on March 25 and 27, when the Black and Gold battle Boston College and Providence, respectively.

The regular season concludes when the Bulldogs host Sacred Heart on April 8. The game against the Pioneers will also serve as the team's annual senior day, honoring seniors Stefanie Arroyo (Gurabo, Puerto Rico), Ashanti Campfield (Stratford, Conn.), Nina Luiggi (Nottingham, England), and Linnea Sjoberg (Stockholm, Sweden) for their service over the past four years.

The NEC Championships are set to begin on April 19 in West Windsor, New Jersey at Mercy County Park and run until April 22. The NCAA Tournament will be held from May 11 through May 13.
