Bulldogs fall to UMass on Sunday afternoon

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University women's tennis team dropped the opening match of its spring season, 7-0, to UMass on Sunday afternoon.

GAME INFORMATION

Bryant 0, UMass 7

Records: Bryant (1-1), UMass (2-1)

Location: Bay Road Tennis Club (Amherst, Mass.)

COACH CILLI'S COMMENTS

"UMass is always a strong opponent, so to take them on in the first match of the season is a big undertaking. We started off slow, but once we adjusted to their power, we competed much better. I am not too disappointed in the quality of tennis seeing that it was the first match of the season. It definitely opened our eyes as to which parts of our game need work. We'll rest tomorrow and hit the courts on Tuesday."
