Oropeza named NEC Rookie of the Week for second time

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University women's tennis freshman Arianna Oropeza (Weston, Fla.) has been named the Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week.

Oropeza repeats as NEC Rookie of the Week after she won her fourth straight match, a 6-4, 6-0 victory at the #5 flight over FDU's Liza Rachenko, a two-time All-NEC award winner. The Weston, Florida, native's win helped the Bulldogs defeat the Knights, 6-1, on Sunday to even their NEC record at 1-1 this spring. Oropeza improved to 10-4 overall and 7-2 at the #5 position on the year.
