Tan, Kendall shine at Army Invite

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Outstanding performance from senior Megan Tan (Calgary, Alberta) and sophomore Leanne Kendall (Lakeville, Mass.) highlighted a strong showing by the Bryant University women's tennis team this weekend.

Tan and Kendall both advanced to the semifinals of the C singles flight, going a combined 6-2 in singles at the Army Invitational.

How it Happened

  • Tan was seeded fourth in the C flight and won each of her first two matches in straight sets, defeating Brianne Lauria from Sacred Heart and Francesca Karman from Fairfield. She then knocked off Gloria Son from Army before falling to Casey Zhong from Lehigh in the semis.
  • Seeded sixth in the same flight, Kendall rallied from a first set loss to defeat Catie Meighan of Lehigh before defeating URI's Paulina Loredo in straight sets. She then defeated Mia Wong from Stony Brook before falling to Quinnipiac's Layla Rodriguez.
  • Bryant's doubles team of Kendall and freshman Manuela Gomez Estrada (Guayaquil, Ecuador) had another strong performance as well, advancing to the semis of the B flight. They earned victories over doubles teams from Seton Hall, NJIT and Fairfield.
