Bio

A great blocker with height and good lateral mobility, Kaup is a talented athlete who adds to the Bulldogs' strongest group of middles to date. 

In the record books: Kaup ranks 17th in the single-season record books with 81 block assists in the 2009 season and is also tied for sixth in single-match history with eight block assists (at Columbia, Sept. 18, 2009).

As a freshman: Has a stellar rookie campaign, appearing in every set all season long... Finished the year with 105 kills and 55 digs... Put up 84 total blocks in 34 matches, good for second on the team... Had 81 block assists on the year with a trio of solo blocks... Her 81 block assists rank her 17th in the single-season record books... Collected a career-high eight stuffs against Columbia and recorded another six on three other occasions, including on the road against Brown where she also registered a career-best 11 digs... Recorded a season-high nine kills vs. Providence on Sept. 5... Her eight block assists against Columbia tie her for sixth all-time in the single-match records. 

Before Bryant: A 2009 graduate of Corona del Sol High School, Kaup was a three-year member of the Aztecs varsity volleyball team... Helped lead team to regional titles in 2005 and 2008... Led Aztecs to state championship game in 2006... Second team all-state selection... Named an all-region honorable mention selection... Led team to Highland Tournament title in 2007... Played club with the Arizona East Volleyball Juniors.

Personal: Daughter of Kenneth and Jane Kaup, Emily Marie Kaup was born June 12, 1990... Plans to study communications in the College of Arts and Sciences.
