BRYANT VOLLEYBALL DROPS NEC CONTEST, 3-0, TO ROBERT MORRIS

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University volleyball team dropped to 1-2 in Northeast Conference play, falling at Robert Morris, 3-0, on the road Saturday afternoon.

Freshman Kendal Gaffney (Colorado Springs, Colo.) paced the Bulldogs with seven kills on the day while senior Robyn Gardner (Longwood, Fla.) recorded a match high 19 digs to lead the visiting squad.

The closest game of the contest for the Bulldogs (13-7, 1-2 NEC) came in the opening stanza, falling 25-21 before dropping the final two games, 25-12, 25-14, respectively.

Colonial Hannah Veith led both teams with 11 kills while teammate Andrea Catucci and Bryant sophomore Jadith Lorenzo (Lawrence, Mass.) tied for a match high 15 assists.

Robert Morris outblocked the visiting team by a margin of 19 to 3, led by Amanda Graham who totaled four rejections in the match. Alexandria Clyburn (Cartersville, Ga.) and Gaffney each recorded one block for the Bulldogs.

The Black and Gold return to Northeast Conference action on Sunday, Oct. 3 when they travel to Saint Francis (PA) at noon.
