Flynn leads Bulldogs to straight-set victory over St. Francis Brooklyn Sunday

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Sophomore Julia Flynn (Pembroke, Mass.) once again paced the Black and Gold offense Sunday afternoon, as the Bryant University volleyball team earned a straight-set victory over St. Francis Brooklyn on the road.

Flynn's 13 kills were a match best and came with a .346 attack percentage. She was the only Bulldog (13-12, 4-3 Northeast Conference) to register double-digit kills, while senior Sara DePouw (Oconto, Wis.), sophomore Kirstyn Sperry (Phoenix, Ariz.) and junior Ally Lunsford (Minneola, Fla.) all chipped in on offense (8, 7 and 6 kills, respectively) and all hit above the team's .300 hitting percentage in the 3-0 victory.

Sperry and senior Vika Katzen (Kfar Saba, Israel) split setting duties with 20 and 19 assists, respectively, while the latter added eight digs. Sperry also picked up a block and two of the team's five aces. Junior libero Erica Vendituoli (Nashua, N.H.) added a match-high 13 digs, while Lunsford tied for the match lead with three blocks.

Domenique Gerard posted 11 kills to pace the Terriers (7-16, 2-5), who dropped the first and third sets, 25-21, and fell in the middle frame, 25-17. As a unit, the home side hit just .143 and saw seven service errors. No other Terrier surpassed the four-kill mark.

Macy Kurtz (11 assists) and Angela Hudelson (10) shared the setting load for St. Francis Brooklyn, while Mireya Ramirez picked up 10 digs. Aleksandra Gligoric matched the three-block output of Lunsford, as both sides recorded five team blocks. Gerard served up two of the home team's five aces.

The Bulldogs leave league play behind one last time for their final non-conference outing of the season Wednesday, traveling to Hanover, N.H., to take on Dartmouth at 7:00 p.m. The match can be seen live on the Ivy League Digital Network.
