Richmeyer chosen as Molten/NEC Defensive Player of the Week

SOMERSET, N.J. – Bryant University volleyball junior Grace Richmeyer (DeSoto, Mo.) has been named Molten/NEC Defensive Player of the Week, as announced Monday by the Northeast Conference office.

Richmeyer helped the Bulldogs to a 3-0 week that included a 2-0 start to NEC play. Bryant picked up a midweek sweep of Providence before opening conference competition with a sweep of St. Francis Brooklyn and five-set win over LIU Brooklyn.

The Bulldog junior averaged 1.36 blocks per set in the three victories with at least four blocks in each match and a high of six in the sweep of the Terriers. For the year, Richmeyer leads the Bulldogs with 0.86 blocks per set and has added 1.89 kills per set.

Bryant is 11-7 on the year and leads the NEC at 2-0 entering Tuesday's nonconference match at UMass Lowell.
