Bulldogs hosting online fundraising drive to support 2018 season opener
SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University volleyball team is coming off its most successful season in the Bulldogs' Division I era and will be hosting an online fundraising drive to support its 2018 opening-weekend tournament in Chicago. All gifts will make an immediate impact as the Bulldogs continue to play against the nation's best.
The Black and Gold won a Division I program-best 21 matches in 2017 and captured a share of its first Northeast Conference regular season championship.
Bryant placed two student-athletes – Julia Flynn (Pembroke, Mass.) and Kirstyn Sperry (Phoenix, Ariz.) – on the NEC all-conference first team, while Sperry earned NEC Setter of the Year honors. Ally Lunsford (Minneola, Fla.) became the first student-athlete in program history to earn CoSIDA Academic All-America honors, an award bestowed to just 21 players across all of the 334 Division I teams.
