Letters from alumnae: Kendall Gaffney

Each Thursday this summer, Bryant University Volleyball alumnae will reflect on their experiences as a student-athlete at Bryant and playing for Coach Garlacy.

This Thursday's installment is from Kendall Gaffney, who played at Bryant from 2010-13.

"I have had several people ask me if I could do it all over again would I still choose to go to Bryant and play volleyball throughout college and my answer is always the same - absolutely yes.

"Playing volleyball at Bryant gave me teammates that turned into best friends and most importantly an East Coast family that was always there to support me while my family was back in Colorado. All of these things were possible due to Theresa and the culture she created within the Bryant Volleyball program. The family she created within the program was evident last year when so many alumnae returned to celebrate Theresa's 500th win.

"Not only was I given the opportunity to become part of this amazing organization and family, but Theresa taught me many skills that led me to become a better volleyball player and person in my daily life. She always pushed each of us to be a better person and taught us the importance of always working hard and giving it 100% effort.

"I will forever be grateful for my time at Bryant University and will always be a proud member of the Bryant University volleyball program."

Bryant begins its 2019 season Friday, Aug. 30, when the Bulldogs face San Diego State in a tournament hosted by FGCU in Fort Myers, Florida. The Bulldogs' home opener will be Friday, Sept. 6, when Bryant hosts North Dakota in its first match of the Hampton Inn-vitational.
