Volleyball to host NJIT and UNH on Homecoming

SMITHFIELD, R.I.- The Bryant women's volleyball team will welcome the Highlanders from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and the Wildcats from the University of New Hampshire to the Chace Athletic Center on Friday October 13th and Sunday October 15th during this year's Alumni Weekend.

Series History:

  • The Bulldogs boast a 3-1 lifetime record against the Highlanders and are undefeated when playing them at home.

Bulldog Notes and Notables

  • The Bulldogs are only 2 kills away from passing 1000 total on the season. The next closest team, New Hampshire, who only has 752.

  • Morgan Smith leads the America East with a .336 hitting percentage.

  • Smith is also tied with Brookelyn Talmadge for 5th in the conference for blocks with 54 total. 

  • Arianna Ugolini (34) and Carriana Barron (32) both rank in the Top 25 in the NCAA for aces this year.

  • Aubrey Lapour is tied for 31st in the NCAA and is second in the conference for kills this season with 258.

  • Josie Deluga's 292 digs this year is second best in the America East.

 

Scouting the Highlanders

  • NJIT enters this weekend at 7-10 on the season and are 1-2 in conference play following a loss last Sunday to New Hampshire.

  • Graduate student Adriana Goetz-Morales comes into this weekend as the team's leader in kills with 148 so far this season.

  • Graduate student Juliana Impaglia has posted a team leading 272 assists in 2023.

  • Sophomore Doga Emil has a Highlander high 173 digs this season.

  • Freshman Sara Siefert ranks 6th in the America East for aces this season with 23.

Series History:

  • The Bulldogs have only won 25% of their matches in their history against the Wildcats. In 2022 however, Bryant and UNH split the season series with the Black and Gold winning at home in three sets.

Scouting the Wildcats

  • New Hampshire enters this weekend at 10-7 overall on the year and are 1-2 against America East competition.

  • Graduate student Alysa Wright will make her return to Smithfield after four seasons  as a member of the black and gold. Through 16 matches this season, she has posted 14 aces and 56 blocks (4th best in the America East).

  • Senior Camryn Honn leads the team with 308 assists in 2023.

  • Senior Hannah Serbousek has posted a Wildcat best 150 kills this year.

  • Junior Ezgi Karabulut and Freshman Jessica Shattles are tied for service aces this year with 18 a piece.
