Bryant falls in three to UMBC
BALTIMORE. MD.- The Bryant women's volleyball team fell to UMBC in three sets on Sunday afternoon in Baltimore. The Bulldogs are now .500 in conference play as the Retrievers sweep the season series.

"We struggled a bit on serve receive to start the match but improved as we went along. In the third set we showed we can compete with them but did not execute at the end. "
HOW IT HAPPENED (at UMBC)

Set 1- The Retrievers got out to an early lead in the match and forced Bryant to play from behind for the majority of the first set. The Bulldogs would shrink the deficit to two but UMBC would hold on and win the first 25-20. Arianna Ugolini had 5 kills in the set. Carolina Camacho and Madison Koeller each had 6 assists.

Set 2- The second set saw UMBC begin on a dominant 10-2 run and forced Bryant to battle back once again. Morgan Smith and Ugolini combined for 5 kills and Brookelyn Talmadge had multiple blocks. The Retrievers however, would take the second set as well by a score of 25-12.

Set 3- With their backs against the wall, Bryant fought valiantly to stay alive against UMBC. Down by 8 points late in the set, the Black and Gold would rally to tie the score at 23 on a Josie Deluga service ace. An Arianna Ugolini kill would give Bryant a 25-24 lead but the set would be extended. In the end, the Retrievers would end up pulling out the victory with final score of 29-27.
