Reynolds, Tuxbury pace Bulldogs at Nassaney

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Fifth-year senior Martha Reynolds (London, England) and junior Annmarie Tuxbury (New Hartford, Conn.) both finished in the top 10 as the Bryant University cross country teams opened the 2014 season with the Nassaney Invitational on Saturday morning on the Bryant University campus.

The Bulldog women finished sixth, while the men ran to an eight-place finish in the opening meet of the year. Boston University claimed the women's race and Northeastern won the men's race.

Reynolds finished fifth with a time of 18:17.0.

Tuxbury finished 10th with a time of 18:41.1.

Kara Walsh (Waltham, Mass.) finished 34th with a time of 19:55.1.

Staci Rezendes (Ludlow, Mass.) finished 38th with a time of 20:14.0.

Brittany Sarza (Uxbridge, Mass.) finished 41st with a time of 20:25.6.

Men

Francis Foley (Acton, Mass.) finished 26th with a time of 16:44.1.

Russell Stevens (Colchester, Conn.) finished 37th with a time of 17:05.9.

Arturo Cruz (Westfield, Mass.) finished 43rd with a time of 17:16.2.

Blake Fenwick (Thomaston, Conn.) finished 46th with a time of 17:27.5.

Robert McCabe (Marlborough, Mass.) finished 49th with a time of 17:37.4.

The Bulldogs will have the next two weeks off before competing in the Ted Owen Invitational in Sept. 27.
