Cross country set to run in NEICAAA Championships Saturday

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's and women's cross country team will take the short trip to Boston this Saturday as they are set to compete in the NEICAAA Championships.

The Particulars

Meet: NEICAAA Championships

Course: Franklin Park (Boston, Mass.)

Time: Women's 5K – 11:45 a.m. | Men's 8K – 12:30 p.m.  

Bulldogs Notes and Notables

  • The Bulldogs ran in the NEICAAA's in 2016 where the men finished 28 and the women finished 21. 
  • Matt McGovern (Long Beach, N.Y.) was the best returning male finisher in 2016 as he was the 130 male to cross the finish line. Jacklyn Sullivan (Plymouth, Mass.) led on the women's side finishing 145.
  • Breann Campise (Tolland, Conn.) and McGovern led the men's team to a third-place finish and the women's team to an eighth-place finish at the Ted Owens Invitational.
  • Three Bulldogs finished in the top 10 last meet on the men's side. McGovern finished sixth, Jason Dolan (Westford, Mass.) finished seventh, and Noah Tellier (North Kingstown, R.I.) finished in the tenth spot out of 75 male runners.
