Bulldogs concluded season at NCAA Regionals

AMHERST, N.Y. – The Bryant University men's and women's cross country team concluded the 2019 season today at the NCAA Division I Northeast Regional in Amherst, N.Y.

The men finished 33rd out of 37 teams with 983 points, while the women finished 37th with 1104 points.

COACH SWITZER COMMENTS

Women | "The women have made great strides this year as a team and continued to improve each and every week," said head coach Mitch Switzer. "They showed no fear towards the longer distance and were rewarded with a drop in team score compared to last year, and some great new PRs! Julia again led the way with a huge improvement finishing 48 places higher than last year. It's been great to see their growth as a young team over the course of the season and I can't wait to see where they'll go with it in the next few years."

Men | "I think the men finally came into their own with this race and it was exciting to watch. Almost all of them came through the 8K mark faster than their 8K PRs and were able to close very strong. Evan had a huge race and made up 14 spots over the final 2000m to lead the team. We had a lower score than last year and were able to capitalize and beat a few more teams than we have in previous years."

General | "I'm really proud of the drive and determination the team showed today. It's been a lot of fun as coaches to watch how they've improved over the course of this past season and I'm glad they were able to end it on such a high note."
