Bryant heads to Mount for three-game set

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University baseball team heads to Emmitsburg, Maryland, this weekend for a three-game series against Mount St. Mary's. Bryant and Mount open their series on Friday afternoon at 3:00 p.m.

  • Lowe is coming off a dominant outing vs Sacred Heart in which he struck out 10 and allowed just one hit over 6.0 innings. 
  • Lowe is 3-0 with a 3.27 ERA in four NEC starts. He has walked three and struck out 21 in 22.0 innings.
  • Wichrowski earned his first collegiate win last Saturday vs Sacred Heart. He enters the weekend averaging nearly 11 Ks/9, having punched out 26 in 21.1 innings.
  • Frasier will pitch on Sunday and also had a solid outing last week, striking out a career-high eight. He's 2-1 with a 3.32 ERA in four NEC starts. 

Bryant vs. Mount St. Mary's

  • Bryant is 41-5 all-time against Mount St. Mary's. The Black and Gold won 30 straight in the series between 2010 and 2017. 
  • The Bulldogs won all four meetings a season ago.   

Bulldog Notes and Notables

  • Bryant is 18-20 overall and 8-7 in NEC play. Bryant is coming off a 5-4 loss to Quinnipiac on Wednesday. The Bulldogs are currently in fourth place in the NEC, a game ahead of Wagner.  
  • In NEC play, Bryant is second with a .302 team batting average and fifth with a 5.28 team ERA. The Bulldogs are second in fielding percentage and have turned 15 double plays.
  • Matt Woods is hitting .373 in league play, posting 10 RBI and 12 runs scored. 
  • Alex Lane has six doubles, five home runs and 25 RBI in 15 NEC games. He leads the league in RBI and is tied for the lead in home runs. 
  • Logan Allen (.356, 9 XBH), John Tuccillo (.353, 82B) and Jake Gustin (.444, 12R, 4-4SB) have also shined in league play so far.
