Bryant outlasts Manhattan, 15-12, on Saturday

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Freshmen Jack Lonsinger and Johnny Hackett combined for eight goals as the Bryant University men's lacrosse team outlasted Manhattan, 15-12, on Saturday afternoon inside the Conaty Indoor Athletic Center.

The Bulldogs are now 3-1 on the season and have scored 15+ goals in all four of their games. Bryant is 3-1 for the first time since the 2021 season.

Lonsinger and Hackett shined on Saturday, recording eight goals on 10 shots on goal. Lonsinger notched four on four shots on goal, while Hackett posted four on six shots on goal. Timmy Hackett and Aidan Goltz each added a pair of goals.

Nathan Laliberte won 15-of-24 faceoffs and had seven ground balls.

How it Happened

  • Goltz opened the scoring at the 12:37 mark and Mason Drouin and Timmy Hackett followed to make it 3-0.
  • Manhattan would get one back before Lonsinger scored twice in the span of 35 seconds to make it 5-1.
  • In the second quarter, Goltz and Timmy Hackett scored to give Bryant a 9-4 edge at the break.
  • Manhattan came out of the half and scored the first three goals before Laliberte notched his first of the season.
  • A pair of goals from Johnny Hackett and one from Lonsinger sent Bryant into the fourth with a 13-8 lead.
  • Four-straight goals from the Jaspers made it 14-12 with less than two minutes left but Johnny Hackett closed it out with a goal at the 17 second mark.
