Coach Purcell's Comments

"After the penalty, I thought we responded well. I thought the first half was very balanced, they were more technical than UMBC and it was a lot different for us. Then in the second half, I think we came out a little sleepy and they were able to convert the cross. Everybody played so we were able to see everyone play a little bit. Individually I thought we did a lot of things well. Defensively in the midfield I think we have to tighten up and we'll be okay."

Key Moment

  • Delaware was able to snag a penalty kick early in the match after an even first 15 minutes and convert, swinging the momentum in the home team's favor and setting them up for a win.

  • 17th minute – Delaware 1, Bryant 0 – The Blue Hens were given a penalty kick early in the match and Thibault Philippe was able to slot it home to give Delaware the lead.
