Series History
- This is the seventh all-time meeting between Bryant and Brown, with the Bears taking all six of the previous matchups.
Bulldogs Notes and Notables
- The Bulldogs finished the 2016 season unbeaten in their last five home games. This is their first home game of 2017.
- Bryant will be looking for more offensive opportunities this time around, after only recording five shots in last season's matchup. They've eclipsed that number in both games to start this season.
- Senior goalie Nick Stewart (South Windsor, Conn.) recorded eight saves in last year's matchup and has recorded seven in the first two games of the season.
- Stewart's prowess in the net has landed him second in GAA and save percentage in the NEC.
A bit about the Bears
- Brown opens their season on Friday afternoon after an 8-8-1 campaign a season ago.
- The Bears' top two scorers are back from a season ago, with junior Matthew Chow (13 points) and senior Nico Lozada (10 points) leading the charge.
- Defensively, they are led by junior Jack Hagstrom, who led his back line to a 1.20 goals against average a season ago. Hagstrom was ranked No. 64 overall on TopDrawerSoccer's Preseason Players to Watch list.
- In net, the Bears will have to fill the void of now-graduated goalie Erik Hanson, who allowed just 1.02 goals per game last season. There is a three-way battle for the netminder position, with senior Joey Cipicchio, junior Teo Norghagen and freshman Max Gross all listed on the roster.
