Men's tennis drops a pair Saturday

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's tennis team dropped a pair of road matches over the weekend, falling to Boston College, 4-3, and Brown, 7-0, on Saturday.

At BC, the Bulldogs got off to a strong start in doubles action with a pair of 6-1 wins from Zachary Morris (Garden City, N.Y.) and Matt Kuhar (Smithfield, R.I.) at the No. 1 spot and Joshua Kliger (Newport Beach, Calif.) and Nick Lamart (Raleigh, N.C.) at the No. 3 position.

In singles action, Kuhar continued his strong rookie campaign with a three-set victory over BC's No. 1 Philip Nelson, 6-4, 4-6, 7-6, and sophomore Oliver Welsh (San Diego, Calif.) took care of Aidan McNulty, 6-0, 4-6, 6-4, at the No. 3 spot. However, Bryant came up just short vs. the Eagles, falling 4-3.

In the evening, the Black and Gold ran into the #68 ranked team in the country, falling to Brown, 7-0, in Providence.

The road doesn't get any easier for the Bulldogs with upcoming matches at Boston University on Sunday and at Harvard the following weekend. The reigning Northeast Conference Champions open league play vs. Saint Francis U. on Saturday, March 28.
