Bryant heads to both Springfield and Terrier Invitational this weekend

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University women's indoor track and field team competes tomorrow January, 25 at the Terrier Invitational hosted by Boston University. The men's indoor track and field team are set to compete in the Terrier Invitational the following day on Saturday, January 26. Both teams will also compete on Saturday at the Springfield Invitational.

Bulldogs Notes and Notables

  • Freshman Nicole Xiarhos is set to compete in the 200-meter on Friday after placing herself in the ninth spot in Bryant's Top 10 record book during last week's meet at Bates. Xiarhos will also compete in the 60-meter dash on Saturday.
  • Sarah Freeman (Merrimac, Mass.) will represent the Black and Gold in the mile run in Boston and the 200-meter run in Springfield. Kierstin Lock (Salem, N.H.) and Caroline Meizen (Douglas, Mass.) will represent during the mile run on Saturday. 
  • The team of Julia Ayres (Collegeville, Pa.), Breann Campise (Tolland, Conn,), Rebecca Reynolds, and Freeman take on the women's distance medley for the first time this season on Friday.
  • Amanda Whitham (Newton, Mass.) looks to beat her personal best this season in the 60-meter hurdles at Springfield. 
  • For field events, Camryn Wesoloskie (Manchester, Conn.) will compete in the Triple and the Long Jump on Saturday. 
  • Jacob Borgia (Westborough, Mass.) will represent Bryant in the 60-meter dash. 
  • The 400-meter dash will consists of Andrew Canale (Lincroft, N.J.), Alec Binette (Glastonbury, Conn.), Josh Pestana (Plymouth, Mass.) and Joel Urizar (Fairfield, Conn.) in Boston and Kevin Stankiewicz and Cole Hollis (North Smithfield, R.I.) in Springfield.
  • After earning Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week, Jason Dolan (Westford, Mass.) will be back in action in the mile run alongside Jordan Dagrin (Providence, R.I.) in Boston as Ian Carpenter (Bethany, Conn.), Seth Christmas (Ellington, Conn.), Joseph Siuta (Unionville, Conn.) and Bodie Avery (Fairlee, Vt.) will run the mile in Springfield. 
  • The team of Canale, Binnette, Pestana and Brian Murray (Westford, Mass.) will compete in the 4x400 on Saturday before Dolan, Dagrin, Christopher Wrenn (Norton, Mass.), and William Bittrich (Duxbury, Mass.) tackle the Men's Distance Relay for the first time this season in Boston.
  • For field events, Turner Davis (Westbrook, Conn.) will return for the High Jump after entering the Bryant records books at Bates. Alongside of Davis will be Ryan Dumont and James Giumetti (Duxbury, Mass.).
