Bulldogs Host LIU Saturday Afternoon

SMITHFIELD, R.I.- The Bryant women's lacrosse team will look to continue their winning ways this weekend when they welcome the Long Island University Sharks to Smithfield. The Bulldogs are off to a 2-0 start in conference play, most recently defeating Sacred Heart by a score of 15-5.

Bulldog Notes and Notables

  • Kenna Kaut and Skylar Simmonds combined to score seven goals in Wednesday's win over SHU, the fifth time this season they've reached that mark. They rank first and second in the NEC in goals, both averaging over three per game.

  • Cassidy Burns and Chamberlaine Bell each recorded an assist against the Pioneers, and rank as the top two passers in the conference. Burns leads the NEC with 3.0 assists per game while Bell is second at 1.57 apg.

  • The Bulldogs allowed a season low five goals at Sacred Heart. They picked up a season high 21 ground balls in the game and forced the Pioneers into 18 turnovers. Goalie Sam Centofante recorded a career best 64% save percentage in the game.

Scouting the Sharks

  • LIU comes into Saturday's game 2-9 overall and 1-1 in the NEC. They opened conference play with a win over SFU, but are coming off a loss to Wagner on Long Island.

  • Player to Watch: Senior goalkeeper Hailey Duchnowski leads the NEC with a 52% save percentage. She is second in the conference averaging 11.7 saves per game.

  • Bryant is 11-2 all-time against LIU, including a 6-0 record at home. Their last matchup was a 12-11 Bulldog win at Beirne Stadium last April.
