Red Flash defeat Bulldogs, 3-0, on Friday afternoon

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – After hitting the road, the Bryant University women's soccer team falls to Saint Francis U., 3-0, on Friday afternoon.

The Red Flash (3-9-1, 3-0) struck first, after Casey Gallagher fired a shot at Bulldogs' (3-9-1, 2-1) keeper Kaylan Conrad (Avon, Conn.), who made the initial save, but Paige Butler was there to finish the rebound from 15 yards out.

Minutes later, Saint Francis U. advanced their lead to two, when Shannon McGinnis finished the score with her head off the corner from Gabi Morales.

In the second half, the Red Flash tallied their third and final goal of the match in the 71st minute, when Gallagher found the back of the net off of Brittany Hansen's initial shot that ricocheted off the crossbar.

The Bulldogs finished the match with seven shots, with senior Scout Benson (Lynnfield, Mass.) leading with a pair of attempts.

Conrad raked in eight saves, while Red Flash's keeper Romina Kunze tallied two.

The Black and Gold return to action on Sunday, Oct. 11, when they take on Robert Morris at 1 p.m.
