DURHAM, N.H. – A pair of top-three finishes from junior Casey Ostrander (Yarmouthport, Mass.) and sophomore Taylor DeBever (Denver, Colo.) led the Bryant University women's swimming and diving team against the University of New Hampshire and Central Connecticut State University on Saturday.

The Bulldogs (1-4) dropped a 221-69 decision to the Wildcats and were defeated, 180-110, by the Blue Devils. It was the first competition for the Black and Gold in over a week.

A two-time winner in the event already this season, Ostrander claimed the only victory for the Bulldogs on the afternoon by winning the 100 back with a time of 58.44. The time was her best of the season, and she also finished second in the 50 free and fourth in the 200 back.

Competing in three freestyle events, DeBever finished third in the 200, third in the 100 and eighth in the 500. Her 200 time of 1:54.45 was her best time of the season.

Juniors Molly Smith (Belmont, Mass.) and Brianne Dwyer (Hicksville, N.Y.) and senior Abby Whittaker (Salisbury, Mass.) all earned fourth-place finishes in their respective events. Smith swam the 1000 free for the first time this season and finished with a time of 10:43.42. Dwyer finished fourth in the 100 breast with a season-best time of 1:09.30, and Whittaker's season-best time of 2:16.43 placed her fourth in the 200 fly.

Bryant returns home on Wednesay, Nov. 9, when it hosts Providence College at the Chace Athletic Center Pool. The meet is scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m.
