LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – The Bryant University men's swimming and women's swimming and diving teams put up seven first-place finishes on Saturday at Siena College in a tri-meet that also featured Niagara University.

Competing against both the Saints and the Purple Eagles, the Bulldog women (3-5) defeated Niagara, 154-86, but were nipped by Siena, 118-109. On the men's side, the Bulldogs (3-2) won their second-straight dual meet, defeating Niagara, 125-112.

The women were led by a handful of strong performances, including first-place finishes from junior Casey Ostrander (Yarmouthport, Mass.) in the 50 free and 100 fly, sophomore Taylor DeBever (Denver, Colo.) in the 500 free and both the 200 medley relay and the 400 free relay. Swimming the 1000 free for the first time this season, freshman Caitlin Hanahoe (Prairie, Minn.) finished second in the event with a time of 11:07.68. Bryant also received second-place finishes from freshman Mara Valenzuela (Bridgewater, N.J.) in the 200 free and 100 back, DeBever in the 100 free, junior Molly Smith (Belmont, Mass.) in the 200 IM and classmate Brianne Dwyer (Hicksville, N.Y.) in the 100 breast.

In moving above the .500 mark for the first time this season, the Black and Gold were led by senior Alex Kosenski (Lavallette, N.J.) sophomore Nicholas Karadimas (New Milford, Conn.) and freshman Graham Beck (Danvers, Mass.). Kosenski won the 200 free and the 100 free for the third time each this season and also helped the Bulldogs close the meet with a  nearly five second victory in the 400 free relay. Karadimas won an event for the first time in nearly a month as he claimed the 50 free in his first attempt at it this season. He also earned a second-place finish in the 100 fly and helped the 200 medley relay team to a victory. For the third-straight meet, Beck won the 100 breast and added a first-place finish in the 500 free in his first attempt at it this season.

Bryant returns to the pool next weekend as the women travel to Burlington, VT to face the Vermont Catamounts on Sunday, Nov. 20, and the men travel to Boston, Mass., to compete in the Terrier Invitational that begins on Friday, Nov. 18, and continues through Sunday.
